'The Dyatlov Pass Incident' Review

Director: Renny Harlin
Writer: Vikram Weet
Stars: Gemma Atkinson, Matt Sokoe, Richard Reid
Running Time: 100 mins
Sub-Genre: Found Footage, Supernatural, Thriller
Year: 2013

Five young filmmakers retrace the steps of a doomed group of hikers in pursuit of an unsolvable mystery who were involved in the Dyatlov Pass incident, on track, they discover some dark and twisted secrets beneath it all.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident (or the basic rename of Devil's Pass) hit over here in the UK on the 23rd, and not knowing anything about this film I went into this with a clear mind and not a lot of interest. Due to my hesitation over this film, it took me 2 days to actually get around to watching it (sorry). but anyways, let's get stuck in to Devil's Pass, and all I can say before going deep into this review is that this nasty little found-footage flick ain't no Blair Witch Project...

Mick Taylor Stalks in Another 'WOLF CREEK 2' Still

After a feed of pics from Wolf Creek 2 yesterday, I wasn't expecting another pic to be released for a good while yet, and clearly I was wrong. Though the photo isn't anything to be amazed over, it is still a pretty fascinating image of Mick Taylor, the Creek villain stalking the hills. So it's proof, in this case the hills really do have eyes.
Check out the image below.

[PIC OF THE WEEK] Killer Trouble

Ti West's 'THE SACRAMENT' Gets it's First Official Poster

Not having a trailer, not knowing much about the film other than the title and synopsis, The Sacrament has a big enough buzz surrounding it for a movie with little identity than you would usually expect, which is a good thing I suppose, unless well, you know... it sucks.

I, have the bare minimum of an opinion on The Sacrament, however, this retro first poster is so good that I can't ignore its presence. Well here it is for you to check out.

First Official Images from 'WOLF CREEK 2' !!

It's here people, Bloody Disgusting have snatched themselves the First official photos from the upcoming sequel to the 2005 Intense thriller Wolf Creek, and being a huge fan of the first, I cannot wait to see Wolf Creek 2 come 2014. Whether or not it will be good is a different story, but all I know is that it will be good to see Mick Taylor back, and hopefully better than ever.

Lured by the promise of an Australian holiday, backpackers Rutger, Katarina, and Paul visit the notorious Wolf Creek Crater. Their dream Outback adventure soon becomes a horrific reality when they encounter the site’s most infamous local, the last man any traveler to the region ever wants to meet; Mick Taylor (John Jarratt). As the backpackers flee, Mick pursues them on an epic white knuckled rampage across hostile wasteland. Only one will remain to be dragged back to his lair to witness the true magnitude of his monstrosity. And if the last man standing is to have any hope of surviving where no one else has survived before, he’ll have to use every ounce of cunning to outwit the man behind the monster and become every bit as ruthless as the monster inside the man.

Want to gander at all the images, then go over here, but you can check out the images below!

First Sneak Peek At Season 4 of 'THE WALKING DEAD'

After the first trailer for Season 4 premiering at Comic-Con, I have been so hyped over the upcoming season that is hitting our screens in October. There has been little news surrounding Season 4, until now as a sneak peek has been released for all us Walking Dead fans to sink our teeth into! It may not exactly be the clip we were all hoping for, but I can assure you it is pretty intense.

Check out the Sneak Peek below.

Fourth 'AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN' Teaser Shows Us What's At Stake..

The fourth teaser to the upcoming fourth Season of the Anthology Horror TV Series American Horror Story was presented yesterday, and once again, it didn't fail to impress. Despite its heavy use of CGI, this brand new teaser presents straight up what Coven has to offer, and unlike the previous brain teasers, this one is as straight forward as it gets. Creepy? it is indeed, interesting? it certainly is.

'Inside (2007)' Review

Director: Alexandre Bustillo, Julien Maury
Writer: Alexandre Bustillo
Stars: Beatrice Dalle, Alysson Paradis, Nathalie Roussel
Running Time: 82 mins
Sub-Genre: Thriller, Home Invasion,
Year: 2007

Four months after the death of her husband, a woman on the brink of motherhood is tormented in her home by a strange woman who wants her unborn baby.

After recently hearing a lot of buzz around this French 2007 Home Invasion horror Inside, due to the release of You're Next, I felt it was my duty to check it out, regardless of the subtitles (which is my pet hate when it comes to movies). Luckily, the version I watched was English dubbed, and despite the horrendous voice overs, Inside actually turned out to be a pretty nasty little foreign horror film; a good one at that, but still very, very nasty.

BLOG OF THE WEEK #4 - The Cinematic Katzenjammer

The Cinematic Katzenjammer (also known as CineKatz through twitter) is a fresh and taut review site that looks so professional that I debated with myself whether or not to make it this week's Blog of the Week, but it was so good that it had to be done.

With its sharp red look, well-written reviews and up-to-date movie news, it's hard not to engage yourself in what CineKatz has to offer, and with a rating system like that, how could I, lover of the rating system turn away from a blog like this.

How 'SAINTS ROW' Isn't Afraid To Step Into Horror Territory

So over the years Volition has brought us four Saints Row games, two of which follow the basic gang routine that treads along GTA territory, and two that unusually stepped a little too far out of the box, so far out that it slips a little into the horror genre.

Saints Row The Third brought us a Zombie Island along with a full mission dedicated to flesh-eating, nuclear infected civilians, that mission was pretty scary and that's the truth. Aside from the mission you were able to rome wild and free through a small island within the map that was filled with flames, destroyed cars, broken houses and lots and lots of zombies. Anyone you has played SR3 knows exactly how ruthlessly fun it was, especially blasting the guys to smithereens. It was great, and presented something Call of Duty Zombies failed to do, present a hugely fun ride. Saints Row IV, unexpectedly contains a lot more horror than expected.

'Girls Against Boys' Review

Director: Austin Chick
Writer: Austin Chick
Stars: Danielle Panabaker, Nicole LaLiberte, Matthew Rauch
Running Time: 96 mins
Genre: Thriller, Drama
Year: 2013

After a series of bad experiences with men, Shae teams up with her co-worker, Lu, who has a simple, deadly way of dealing with the opposite sex.

Girls Against Boys is what I call 'A big loss for a small nothing', what appears to have more potential than the average revenge flick, comes out looking like a cheap attempt to do something original, completely failing on the front, and as a decent story to follow. What can I say, with a movie experience so dry it's hard to appreciate the flavor it provides, and Girls Against Boys just becomes another lifeless entry into the revenge sub-genre.

You Ready For 'FRIGHT NIGHT 2' ? Check Out The Brand New Trailer!

Having seen the remake of Fright Night back in 2011 and not the original, I am in two minds about the up-coming remake sequel that is going straight-to-disc (with no surprise over the serious lack of profit the remake brought in through theatres). Don't get me wrong, I like the remake, but I have little interest in this sequel... well, that was before I watched the trailer.

Fright Night 2 is due Disc release around Halloween, so no complaining if you have nothing to watch during the holiday. This trailer is actually pretty decent to my surprise, though i'm just not quite fussed about it and could happily wait until its release. Who knows, it could actually be pretty good, but you never know. Check out the fresh new trailer below.

Another '[REC] 4: APOCALYPSE' Photo Presents The Blood

Us horror fans are all fully aware the the next installment to the hit Spanish Zombie horror [REC] is currently being filmed. [REC]4: Apocalypse is delivering a decent amount of info from behind the action already, even before the movie has finished its filming; that's just how generous they are to lovers of the franchise.

Well, check out the juicy blood-soaked image below!

Scoping through Sharni Vinson's twitter page (as you do) I stumbled across numerous unseen posters from the upcoming home-invasion horror You're Next, whether their fan-made or not, these posters are absolutely amazing. God I am so jealous that I can't get to see this on the 23rd (UK fan over here, we won't get it until the 28th unfortunately)!! Check out the posters below!

A Strange Third Teaser For 'AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN'

ahs-coven
Another Coven Teaser hits the net, and this time, it isn't all that it seems, like literally. I don't think this teaser makes much sense if any, and isn't much to look at never mind understand, but its AHS and it has a reputation for its f**ked up style.

With a cast of regulars and new recruits including Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Alexandra Breckenridge, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Jamie Brewer, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti Lupone, and Denis O’Hare, here’s a list of the first three episodes that begin this October.

New Fierce 'YOU'RE NEXT' Poster, PLUS New Stills

YOURE_NEXT_01143813.jpg
News and gifts have been polluting this week's news in horror involving the soon-to-be-cult-classic You're Next, and for someone who simply cannot wait any longer for this movie, this is heaven. Does the news for the movie get better? um...no, but it doesn't mean they aren't fascinating!

Check out the New Poster and Stills (that I think we seen from the trailer) Below!!

'ABC'S OF DEATH 2' Claims Its Full List Of Directors

Hating the first, I will be going into 2 completely open minded, preferably with a dislike to it, but there will be no doubt, no matter how bad the first was, that i'll watch it in the end up for you. This news of the full roster of the directors does not interest me in the slightest, but it's here below for all you interested enough to look to take a gander... There are a few good names in here though, maybe this could be a good sequel? Well i'll say nothing yet.

Behind The Scenes Look At 'YOU'RE NEXT' !!

You're Next is hitting the big screen on August 23rd, and with the buzz going around about it, I personally cannot wait to get a watch at You're NextWhen the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back. Starring Sharni Vinson, You're Next is said to re-invent the sub-genre to an all new level.

'Evil Dead (2013)' DVD Review

Director: Fede Alvarez
Writers: Fede Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues
Stars: Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, Elizabeth Blackmore

A group of friends go to a remote cabin in the woods to help with their friend Mia's drug addiction, they discover the Book of the Dead in the cellar which releases a wild demon that takes over the group until one is left to fight for survival.

Having already watched 2013's Evil Dead before, I knew what I was getting in to when buying this DVD; I was in for a gory-licious treat. This movie may not be suited to everyone's taste by any means, I mean I watched it with my brother last night who absolutely hated it, that's just the sort of movie it is. Me, on the other hand, well I absolutely loved it.

Not being a fan of the original two, I can see 2013's Dead as a fun, balls-to-the wall gore affair that knows what it's doing and does it well. For fans however, they take it as a mediocre, gore-fest with little to no wit; I'm sure there are plenty of fans out there sucked up all the juicy elements Evil Dead had to offer, but from what I'm hearing from die-hard fans perspective its not all that positive.

'Sharknado' Review

Director: Anthony C. Ferrante
Writer: Thunder Levin
Stars: Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, John Heard, Cassie Scerbo, Jaason Simmons

While a freak hurricane invades Los Angeles whilst the waters become infested with sharks, the entire city becomes flooded and over-run by sharks, and as the two combine, a vicious hurricane tears up the city, hurling sharks, and a group of smart survivors try to put an end to the shark infested tornado.

This is the honest truth, I can't make heads or tales with Sharknado; I mean...wow. Were do I start?... Ok, I'm ready. Sharknado, Syfy's newest phenomenon that took America by storm premiered on the UK Syfy channel a few days back, and being prepared for this experience due to having it on record, I watched it when I was ready for it, and still, I was shocked; for both good and bad reasons.

Though I wasn't expecting much from Sharknado, maybe that's why I was slightly but pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, this is a terrible movie, it really is, but it's so god damn daft that it becomes extremely fun. Yes, that's right, it's fun, judge me all you want because trust me, i'm already judging myself for liking it as much as I did, but I have to say, it's by far my guilty pleasure of 2013. Don't worry i'm not telling you to go out and see this movie because it should only be a movie experienced with true enthusiasm, and if you have no interest in watching it, then give it a miss. However, I couldn't get over it's hilariously dumb design, and that reason alone kept me watching it to the bitter end.

Chloe Grace Moretz Explains The Delay With 'CARRIE'

When Carrie’s US release date was shunted back from March to October, it immediately seemed a marketing decision to launch the film during the Halloween season. However, according to Chloe Grace Moretz, there was more to it than that.

IGN got their hands on an extremely unsettling New Clip from the upcoming Home-Invasion Horror You're Next that is hitting UK theartres on August 28th. How could you not be excited for this?! Personally, i'm ecstatic for a proper slasher movie to come out, and although many are skeptical with it due to its likeness to The Purge, I think it's going to be pretty good.

'Dawn of the Dead (2004)' DVD Review

Director: Zack Snyder
Writer: James Gunn
Stars: Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Mekhi Phifer, Ty Burrell

When a zombie infection breaks loose, a group of surviving civilians take refuge at a large Mall, and as the numbers grow inside the number of flesh-eating zombies build on the outside, making their survival harder day by day; They fight for survival.

Following the life of Ana, she and her boyfriend is attacked by a neighbourhood child you has been infected. After feasting on her boyfriend infecting him, Ana escapes and is in a car accident, were she is found by Kenneth, a police officer and a small group of survivors. Fleeing to a near Mall, they come across security guards within the Mall who demand leadership, and soon, when more survivors enter they try to live and stay in safety from the infected that horde the outer ground of the Mall.

Dawn of the Dead does what most remakes fail to do, deliver the classic theme with a successful and fresh twist. That's exactly how to sum up Zack Snyder's Dawn; a fun, fast and furious zombie flick that re-invents the genre to a modern pace. Was it 2004's Dawn that brought around the running zombie? I think so, and many just don't agree with the road Dawn created for future zombie flicks, but if you ask me, fast infected make for a more intense ride than a fumbling "brainnnnssss" zombie; that's just how I feel.

Another 'YOU'RE NEXT' TV Spot Gets us Familiar With It's Neighbours

Over the past couple of weeks there have been a sea of You're Next TV Spots coming in, all of which show us a little more piece by piece of which we haven't seen in previous spots or trailers. This weeks Spot gets us familiar with more of it victims; the neighbours. Though it isn't as good as the previous spots, this one makes us piece two and two together when it comes to what we have seen so far.

Perhaps they should stop showing so much and leave us with actual stuff to watch which we haven't seen before, and we hope that this won't be another case like Evil Dead were it shows most of the movie in its trailers.. What am I saying?! I love You're Next news!! Here is the New TV Spot below.

First Teaser For 'AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN'!

American_Horror_Story_Coven_Banner_8_6_13
Being a fan of AHS, I can safely say that I am super excited for Coven in October, and getting a playful vibe from the recent photo's and interviews, this short teaser will ensure that Coven is not messing around, and it will be creepy as hell judging by this teaser. Fan of AHS? Take a look at this wonderfully bonkers teaser below!

'INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2' Gets A New Creepy Yet Familiar Trailer...

Insidious_Chapter_2_Banner_2_5_28_13
A new international trailer for Insidious: Chapter 2 has been released, and although I think it will be just as scary if not scarier as the first, I can't help but feel as if this trailer displays the movies overall tone, and the trailer isn't doing it for me unfortunately. By the looks of things, Insidious 2 isn't going to be very good, and The Conjuring may just stand as this years scariest flick. Judging by this trailer I can't see it being scarier than The Conjuring, or even the first Insidious despite my earlier thoughts.

To be honest I am not sure what to make of Chapter 2 anymore, but here is the trailer below for you to indulge in. Let me know what you think of Chapter 2 in a comment below.

A Sequel To 'SEE NO EVIL' Is Being Made! Wait For It... Starring WWE's Kane!

A Look Back At The Amazingly Effective 'DEAD ISLAND' Game Trailer

So being a fan of the Dead Island game I went back on the search and came across this amazing announcement trailer that was released a 2 years ago. Having seen this trailer before I know the impact, but thinking back to the first time watching it reminded me of how much of an impact it had in the gaming world and the movie world. Lionsgate bagged the rights after the game release to make a Dead Island Movie, but based on the trailer and not actually on the game which in my opinion is a great move, a move that the game perhaps should have made.

This trailer won awards, and bagged itself the title of 'One of the Best Game Trailers Ever'. Enough said eh? Well here is the trailer below, if you haven't seen it then watch it now, you won't regret it.

'The Conjuring' Review

Director: James Wan
Writer:
Chad Hayes

Stars: Verna Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Lili Taylor

Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal investigators work with a family who have just moved into their home to rid it from its dark, evil spirits of the family that died before them, and when discovering that things are worse than they seem, the Warrens realize that they have something stronger at hand to deal with.

Before I get into anything about the actual movie, all I have to say is that if your planning to wait for The Conjuring online to watch think again, because this is a horror that should be watched at the theatres and only at the theatres, it's part of the experience, and it's being in a big, dark surround-sound room that delivers the true suspense and chills The Conjuring has to offer. Take note people, take note.

First Review For 'CURSE OF CHUCKY' Is In!!

Doing my daily root through Bloody Disgusting, I stumbled upon in the Review section Curse of Chucky, and it was my duty to investigate Brad Miska's opinion as soon as possible. Looking through the review I learnt a few things; 1. A Review coming from a fan can only mean one thing; an over-positive review, so beware that Curse will most like;y not be as good as Miska makes it out to be. 2. It may only be for Chucky fans only; and 3. Do not have high hopes because there is a good chance we will be let down, lets be honest.

Well here is the link for the review below!
