A 'Friday The 13th' TV Series Announced! Is This Good or Bad?

Deadline just reported that Friday The 13th will be coming to the small screen despite the reboot Platinum Dunes are doing. Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment have set a deal to produce a new hour-long dramatic series based upon the characters and settings of Friday The 13th.

Sean S. Cunningham, who helmed the 1980 original, will be executive producer along with EFO Films principals Randall Emmett & George Furla, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment MM, Steve B. Harris of Diversion3 Entertainment, and Ted Fox of Fox Entertainment.

Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) have been set to script “a storyline that re-imagines Jason in multiple time periods.

So, the small screen strikes again and it looks as if the slasher genre's popularity is starting to move to the smaller screen along with the Scream Series. I am excited for this but the question is; are you?

  1. TV show is the new form of remake. I honestly can't say that I'm excited about this, but I'm not gonna lie and say I won't watch it and give it a chance.
