Final Resident Evil Installment Gets its (Unoriginal) New Title

No production or release dates have been given for the upcoming final installment to Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil Franchise, but what has been released is a nifty title and some pre-production hints that may just reinforce your belief that this film actually will happen.

The upcoming franchise entry will be tentatively titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter as said by Anderson, and following so when speaking with Collider, in which he had this to say;

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the working title.  It may end up being the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script… I’m right in the middle of [the first draft].
"There are no set dates for shooting yet.  I think we’re waiting until we have a first draft screenplay and then go from there." and then went on further to say when asked if The Final Chapter will be the title that sticks "That’s what’s on the title page, it’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely."
Also, when asked about 3D he waffled on about how it's "not some special sauce you just sprinkle on, it's something you have to keep in mind when writing the script."

So far, Anderson seems to be working on the script as we speak, and although there is no release date yet, I would give the film a solid 2016 release date, a lengthy 4 years after Retribution which will be the biggest gap in the franchise yet. Do you think Anderson will be able to pull it out of the bad this time around, or will he flop with sheer laziness like the previous 4 installments? This could be anyone's guess.
